The wisdom of water is its incredible strength, it carves rock and shapes the entire earth, but without force. Water element allows for adaptation to all of life’s changes, challenges and stresses. Like the flow of water, a balanced practice empowers us to govern emotions, rather than letting emotions govern us.
Join us in this Yin Yoga class for all - suitable for those of all abilities and ages and health conditions, although care should be taken for those with existing hip-related conditions. We will be moving slowly and opening up to stillness and pause. Starting with Lotus On Water Mudra (Padma Jala Mudra), a hand gesture or yoga mudra that promotes the flow of energy throughout the body, we will be exploring the element of water in poses that gently open the hips and allow calm and relief.
A Yin Yoga practice to support and balance water element typically tends to emphasize vitality support. Symptoms of a Water imbalance include fatigue, exhaustion, overwhelm, stress and anxiety.
Please come to this session with 4-5 pillows or cushions, or 2 yoga bolsters to support you at the appropriate depth. This class can be done in bed, on a mat or anywhere where you can support yourself lying down.
