From Madonna to Jane Fonda, from Sting to Richard Gere, meditation is what's happening. Cross-legged yogis can be seen in advertisements for everything from computers and credit cards to herbal teas; newspapers and magazines carry stories on the benefits of meditation with tips from famous athletes and film stars; and no self-respecting bookshop is without a how-to-meditate section. As it gains greater popularity, so a huge amount is being written about what it is and what it is not. Many 'try' to meditate but believe they can't do it; some think it is about stopping thinking, while others see it as weird, boring, or meaningless. What is rarely mentioned is that meditation can be your very best friend.
Did you ever wonder why we resist something that connects us to peace of mind and inner happiness? Isn't it ironic how often the best things for us can be what we avoid the most? Yet meditation is a near and dear companion to have throughout life, like an old friend you turn to when in need of support, inspiration, and clarity.
In this Introduction to our 4 week course, we will share how there is no right or wrong way to meditate, how everyone can do it, and how truly liberating it can be. Most of all, that it is fun and to be enjoyed!
